We hope that one day, the state of Pennsylvania will make school choice a reality for every family. We would like to take a step forward in faith towards that goal for BMCS Families.

Blue Mountain Christian School is launching a vision to become one of the first tuition-free Christian schools in Pennsylvania. Our goal is to raise $600,000 to fully cover tuition for up to 180 students for the 2025–2026 school year.

With God’s help and the faithful support of Jonestown Bible Church, our school operates with low overhead, allowing every dollar given to stretch further. We believe that removing tuition as a barrier could open the door for many more students to experience the blessing of Biblical learning and spiritual growth.

That said, we want to be clear: this is a vision, not a guarantee. While we are prayerfully working toward our fundraising goal, we cannot yet confirm if we will raise the full amount needed this year. However, we are fully committed to financial transparency. Families will be able to track our fundraising progress, and the administration will provide consistent updates along the way.

Our primary goal is to raise the majority of funds through Pennsylvania’s EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) and OSTC (Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit) programs. These programs allow businesses and individuals to receive tax credits or refunds in exchange for donations to approved scholarship organizations, which help families afford private school tuition. To achieve this goal, we will partner with the PennGift Foundation, an approved PA scholarship organization.

All funds raised through the online fundraising platform by December 31, 2025, will be evenly distributed among all enrolled families and applied toward second-semester tuition by January 15, 2026. Because these funds are not subject to Pennsylvania state guidelines, families who have already paid ahead for those months may receive a reimbursement.

Funds raised through EITC and OSTC during the 2025–2026 school year will be used to cover the tuition offered to families for 2026-2027. Please note that families will still need to make financial arrangements and regular tuition payments as usual. We kindly encourage all families to plan and remain flexible as we work toward this shared goal.

As more businesses and donors choose to redirect their PA state tax dollars to BMCS, we believe that, if the Lord does not allow full funding this year, He may still be preparing the way for future years. With time, prayer, and unity, we trust we will move closer and closer to the goal.

If the Lord wills, this dream could become a reality even this year. But it will take all of us, parents, staff, and supporters working together, praying, serving, sharing the vision, and trusting in God's perfect timing and provision.

Please join us as we pursue this vision in faith.

PA Scholarship Distribution Guidelines

  • All funds raised through our general tuition-free initiative will be evenly distributed among all enrolled families.

  • EITC and OSTC funds will be awarded based on PA income eligibility requirements. According to current guidelines:

  • Families earning up to $112,348, plus $19,775 for each dependent, may qualify.
    Example:

    • 1 child = income limit of $132,123

    • 3 children = income limit of $171,673

    •

Families would need to complete the FACTS application, as this would allow us to distribute the EITC and OSTC scholarships in compliance with state guidelines. These eligibility numbers are usually adjusted upwards each September by DCED, so people just over the limits may be eligible after the annual adjustment.

Families whose income exceeds the Pennsylvania state guidelines for EITC/OSTC eligibility will have their scholarships funded through other sources, such as the Betty Atkins Scholarship, which is supported by our school’s ongoing fundraising effort.

Enrollment Plan

We recognize that this new initiative may draw interest from many new families, and we are excited about that possibility. However, our priority is to care for our current families.

  • All students who completed the 2024–2025 school year at BMCS will be automatically accepted for 2025–2026, provided they have not withdrawn for disciplinary reasons and continue to align with BMCS’s doctrinal beliefs and values.

  • All new families and returning families will be invited to complete a simple application and vetting process, which includes a parent salvation testimony, a brief explanation of their desire for Christian education, and a statement of agreement with the school’s doctrinal position, along with other questions to ensure alignment with BMCS's mission.

  • Continued enrollment at BMCS will depend on each family’s willingness to support the school by offering their time, talents, and abilities as needs arise. Opportunities include helping with transportation, classroom support, lunch and recess duty, fundraising events, and more. Needs will be shared in the weekly newsletter, and parents, guardians, and relatives are all welcome to help. Please note that clearances are required for roles involving direct contact with children.

BMCS Tuition Support Marketing Plan

We have partnered with GiveSendGo, a trusted Christian fundraising website, to help raise money for the second semester of the 2025–2026 school year. The school administrator will work closely with parents and ask them to help spread the word to friends, family, and others in our community and across Pennsylvania who may want to support our school. We will also use different social media platforms to share our mission and invite more people to join us.
